CEPT University recently inaugurated its new Workshops facility which has been designed by architect and CEPT alumni, Gurdev Singh (’68 batch). The new workshops facility will be home to model-making workshop, wood workshop, metal workshop, weaving workshop, print-making workshop, ceramic workshop and CEPT FabLab. If one has to detail it out then model-making workshop will be open for use by students and faculty, 24×7. The weaving workshop has 16 custom-made looms and two students can work per loom, thereby accommodating at least 32 students at a time, under the print-making workshop, students will be exposed to lithographic style of printing; the ceramic workshop also houses pottery and firing facilities and CEPT FabLab, which was established in 2014 has CNC machines, 3D printers, laser cutters and more. The glulam canadian timber wood used for the workshop’s roof has been used for the first time in the country. The new facility can accommodate upto 300 students at a time.
