Spread across 1800 sq ft area, this apartment is located in a prestigious tower at Andheri west, Mumbai. Architect Milind Pai team specially crafted this project as per the brief which was to create a functional, modern, and efficient design with a flamboyant look. From outside, this residence, emanates a soft radiant glow of warmth. Enter the home, and one is drawn into a spacious and inviting living area where the vast expanse of Italian flooring along with sculptures, chandeliers, mother of pearl center table exude a sense of high living almost instantly. The home truly adheres to a contemporary scheme. The apartment opens into a small entrance lobby, leading into the living room. A stripped wooden and mirror panel operates as a privacy screen from the entrance and also acts as backdrop for a serene statue of Buddha. As one steps into the living room, one notices a glow that is radiated by the lighting and reflections from surfaces of the mother of pearl and black mirrored center tables, wooden and mirror partition and the Bravia stone along with mirror panels on the living room wall. The light colored sofas have a subduing effect, adding a touch of stately dignity to the room. This area is accentuated by the cut mirror artwork, highlight walls and backdrops with exclusive wallpaper. The dining room is a seamless part of living room wherein, the use of laminated veneer on the ceiling along with chandeliers adds an element of Natural Grandiosity. More soft classy elements like Sofas and the Curtains evoke feeling of warmth and solidity appropriate to family residence. Interestingly, the living room opens up to a wooden floor balcony that adds to the richness and elevates the overall living experience. The passage designed to complement the existing area leads to the Master bedroom, Son's bedroom and Daughter’s bedroom. The sons bedroom sees artistic and warm accents through black and white colour schemes, which lends a dramatic touch to the interiors. The linear simplicity of the design is broken by the use of abstract wallpaper. The duct area has been extended into the room to create a study corner. The daughters room with white walls has a minimalistic appeal. Further sparkle is provided by the bed back design, Leatherite panels with Swarovski studded in the center. The use of laminated wooden flooring in the daughter’s bedroom lends its own charm to the space. ‘Relaxing in Luxury and Privacy’ are what most of us look for in a Master Suit. The Master Bedroom of the client is the perfect blend of both with added aesthetics and lavishness. The Master Bedroom introduces itself into a well-refined personal ambience. The bed is simple, enunciated by the bed back which flows to the ceiling and gives a unique touch in a picture perfect setting. The tones of Dark Brown coupled with the mirror design on the wardrobe dominates the room. The master toilet with its wooden tiles for flooring and cream Corian decorative highlighters, Hi-end sanitary fixtures, imparts an unusual look. The grandfather’s bedroom is kept neutral with off-white walls and veneer finished furniture. The use of mirrors on walls reflects the glimpse and sense of spaciousness. The complete project has a Plaster of Paris false ceiling with a simplistic play of diffused cove lighting. The light coloured walls with an extensive use of veneer finish, tones the warm look and feel of the entire house. Milind Pai Architect & Interior Designer has success given a concrete form to the Desai vision. On the whole, this abode skillfully juggles diverse material palette along with unique artworks- to make every single day for the client a special experience.
